Mobilk - The team spirit was high on the road south as the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey Convoy progressed to ASharqiyah Governorate where they played beach football with a number of youth on the shore of Sur and provided them with sports supplies.
In addition to Sur, the care provided by the convoy reached the Omani Women’s Association in Al Kamil wa Al Wafi where the ambassadors sent IT equipment including laptops in addition to sports equipment for the establishment of a gymnasium .The newly equipped Ooredoo supported gym will spread awareness on the importance of sports in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some families in the area were also supported by a number of basic household and electrical appliances.
The Omani Women’s Association in Ibra, witnessed the opening of the latest Ooredoo Incubator, and was provided with the necessary fixtures and furniture to set it up as a skills development facility and training hub for small business in the area. In common with other incubators in the Ooredoo Goodwill programme, the new centre includes a training kitchen and beauty salon, as well as a sewing and computer centre. Having completed this part of their schedule, the volunteers sent electrical items to some families in the locality.
“I am so grateful to be part of the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey this year and feel particularly blessed to have this wonderful opportunity during the Holy Month,” said Samira
Al Sinani, Head of the Omani womens association in Qurayat and a volunteer in the Ooredoo Goodwill convoy. “Each day has been enriching and personally rewarding, filled with unforgettable experiences and memories to treasure forever. In particular, it has meant a lot to me to meet the incredible individuals involved in the Ooredoo initiatives, like this incubator here in Ibra. Getting to know them has helped me gain a better understanding of the important and long-lasting impact these facilities will have not just on their employment prospects but also on their lives. I am looking forward to sharing what I have experienced with my Ooredoo colleagues and family once we get back.”
Omran Al Rahbi, a goodwill volunteer who works at Ooredoo said: “For me what stands out is the kindness and hospitality that has been extended to us at every stage of the journey and the joyous Ramadan spirit that has surrounded us. There’s no doubt that all the volunteers feel fortunate to be involved in this year’s Ooredoo Goodwill Journey and not only because of the inspiring atmosphere. We have benefited immensely from our participation and gained a deeper respect for each other every day, learning a lot about our personal strengths and potential to contribute.”
