Ooredoo’s Celebrates Oman’s Mobile Network Speed Award

Mobilk - Marking yet another achievement in its aims to enrich customers’ digital lives, Ooredoo senior management and staff gathered to celebrate their award for the fastest mobile network for Q1–Q2 2018 from Ookla®. The global leader in internet testing and analysis evaluated consumer-initiated tests taken using Speedtest® on devices across the country. 

The Speedtest Award by Ookla is given to top providers and is determined using a Speed Score™ which incorporates a measure of each provider’s download and upload speed to rank network speed performance. 

Over the past two years, Ooredoo has taken data experience leadership to the next level with a massive network boost and digital enhancements; all to ensure its customers enjoy the internet wherever they are. The company’s high-performance 4G mobile network showed remarkable download and upload speed averages of 32.87 Mbps and 16.84 Mbps respectively, allowing customers to watch their favourite shows or upload content faster than ever before. As a result, the company’s mobile network is capable of supporting higher resolution video qualities such as Quad HD, Ultra HD, and 4K when streaming through Netflex, Youtube, or Vimeo to name but a few.
