Mobilk - Batelco extends huge congratulations to Batelco employee and Bahrain Bowler Fawaz Abdulla for his fantastic achievement in being placed 4th at the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Chameleon Championship, which concluded in Las Vegas, USA on Sunday night 11th November. The Chameleon Championship is one of four separate tournaments which made up the week long PBA Championships, which is part of the 2012 World Bowling Tour.
The PBA includes the most renowned professional bowlers in the world and Fawaz qualified from a field of 240 professional bowlers to reach the top 16 with an average of 230 over eight games. He then bowled another six games along with the top 16 PBA players, advancing into the top 4 in the final game with a 238 overall average to claim a spot in the Live TV finals with a total score of 3,333 over 14 games.
In the exciting TV final event , Fawaz faced three of the most famous bowlers in PBA history on Sunday, November 11: Australian two-handed star Jason Belmonte, Walter Ray Williams Jr. - holder of 47 previous PBA titles and 2010 Chameleon Champion Scott Norton.
Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Fawaz, a Bahraini national, is the first person from the Middle East ever to qualify for a PBA final.
