Global Entrepreneurship Week Honoured by the Patronage of The Minister Of Information And Communication Technology

Mobilk - Qatar Development Bank announced today Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) activities, which will take place from 15 to 19 November 2016. The event is held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hessa Al Jaber, Qatar’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology.

A number of activities and events supporting the SME sector development will take place in different venues across Doha during the GEW week. Grand Hayatt Doha Hotel, Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), and Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) will host a variety of panel discussions and workshops. A number of educational institutions such as Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar and College of North Atlantic Qatar, will also host some of the happenings on the event’s agenda.

 (QNB) has been announced as the Platinum Sponsor for the event. Meanwhile, Qatar Shell will be GEW’s Silver Sponsor. 

Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, CEO of Qatar Development Bank, said: “I would like to extend my gratitude to H.E. Dr. Hessa Al Jaber, Minister of Information and Communication Technology, for embracing the Global Entrepreneurship Week under her patronage. The services and initiatives provided by QDB to support the development of Qatar’s SME sector are in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”

“In its fourth year GEW will be a platform for a number of discussions on the latest trends and hot topics that are affecting the SME sector on local and international level. The five day event includes participation of partner research, scientific, educational, and commercial institutions. We are proud to gather this number of stakeholders under one umbrella to contribute to the growth of the SME and entrepreneurship sector,” he concluded 

Mr.  Yousef Darwish, QNB’s GM – Group Communications, said: “As the leading financial institution in the Middle East and North Africa, we are pleased to sponsor this important event which supports human development and economic growth in the State of Qatar. This is especially important seeing as the private sector is one of the areas we give special attention to, due to its role in diversifying the national economy and because of the youth’s critical role in the development process.”
