Carnival Minhibak roam the streets of Damascus For the first time in Syria

Damascus witnessed on Friday June first a real festivity the first of its kind to happen in Syria, where the economic instances of the city organized a carnival entitled “We love you” to celebrate the renewal of the presidential constitution of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.
 
The Carnival started off at Mezze Highway, headed to the Umayyad square passing by the Arab Writers Club building where it was joined by a procession of cars and employees of Syriatel Company. The organized parade continued its route raising Syrian flags and banderoles and hailing slogans illustrating the joy of the Syrian people of this historical event.
 
Many cars decorated with illustration of Archeological sites representing the Syrian provinces participated in the carnival. There were also folkloric shows expressing the culture &traditions of different Syrian provinces as the performers were wearing traditional clothes. Sport and art shows were also performed and vintage cars were displayed. Citizens took part in this festivity as the buildings’ windowpanes were decorated with Syrian flags and crowds of all ages filled both sides of the streets raising photos of their President Bashar Al Assad and hailing at the procession.
 
The carnival ended at the Old fair ground with fireworks that lighted the whole city of Damascus. The parade continued its route towards the Syrian provinces for four days, an expression of Syria’s joy for its leader and president Dr. Bashar Al Assad.
