Mobilk - Ooredoo has launched its ‘Roam Like Home’ promotion, introducing an affordable and hassle-free service for customers travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Between 25 December 2014 and 25 January 2015, both prepaid and postpaid customers can opt-in free of charge and enjoy a month of competitive rates on data and voice calls to Oman and any UAE number.
“Going abroad can often be a busy time and people don’t need the extra stress of having to change SIM cards just to control costs. However, this is not the only difficulty; customers then don’t have access to their contacts and other information on their phones. ‘Roam Like Home’ means that travellers have everything they usually have at their fingertips, all for the same cost as if they were in Oman,” said Feras Al Shaikh, Director of Consumer Sales.
‘Roam Like Home’ is available on the Du and Etisalat networks in the UAE. Postpaid tariffs will include a 39 Baizas roaming charge per minute on all outgoing calls made to the UAE or Oman, 0.25 Baizas per KB of data and 10 Baizas for every SMS. Prepaid customers will enjoy the same SMS cost, 55 Baizas per minute on all outgoing calls to any UAE or Oman number, and 0.5 Baizas per KB on data. All incoming calls from other destinations will remain the same, in addition to the cost of international calls and SMS.
Al Shaikh added, “Our aim is to provide something that gives better control and great value. ‘Roam Like Home’ also means that customers in the UAE do not receive unexpected and unbudgeted bills.”
To subscribe, customers simply need to send “Roam” to 80099, which can be done whilst in Oman or in UAE. For more information on the offer, customers can send “RLH” to 1500, or visit one of the 29 Ooredoo stores located across the Sultanate.
