  • Nawras joins millions worldwide in pledging support for Earth Hour 2014

Mobilk - Nawras is taking the pledge to ‘go green’ by participating in Earth Hour for the fifth consecutive year. The Nawras Campus, as well as all 29 stores across the Sultanate, will be powering down all unnecessary electrical appliances for one hour from 8.30pm on Saturday 29 March. During this time, customers will still be able to receive the highest levels of service and to stay connected.

Last year saw some exciting scenes of their large Contact Centre in darkness, but workers still taking calls with just the necessary illumination of their screens to continue talking to and helping customers.

Nawras has signed the pledge on www.omanearthhour.org to be part of Earth Hour’s 2014 ‘I Will If You Will’ campaign, to take positive action towards energy saving measures far beyond the hour. Together, companies across Oman and the globe, will help to reduce energy consumption not only during Earth Hour itself, but hopefully raise awareness about the small ongoing changes that can be made every day.

Nawras is a member of the Environment Society of Oman (ESO) and has implemented a number of green initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, including installing energy-efficient lighting, using recycling bins in all stores and also extending ‘green’ options to customers by  giving them the option to receive e-bills and recharge electronically
