Oman Mobile, the premier mobile operator in the Sultanate, recently introduced six new filters to its mass messaging service (iMass SMS). Launched in 2004, the iMass SMS solution enables business communities and government organizations to broadcast news, offers, promotions and other related activities to more than 1.7 million Oman Mobile subscribers through a cost effective approach.
The new filters aim to reach specified target audiences through a filtered system which allows clients to communicate directly with the desired consumers. The categories include nationality, gender, age, residency, employment and corporate customers.
Engineer Huda Al Habsi, Senior Manager of Product Development for Corporate at Omantel Group, said, “Our iMass SMS solution now offers personalized filters which will enhance the service effectiveness. Oman Mobile’s mission is to continuously meet clients’ needs and satisfaction through innovation and enhancement.”
She added, “Business and government clients can now send targeted broadcasted messages by selecting any of the categories as well as specific regions and occupation in addition to language and number of messages required. Organizations can also choose any combination of options to ensure message effectiveness, extensive coverage and reach intended as opposed to the traditional mass messaging service to all Oman Mobile subscribers.”
At present, customers are only able to send iMass SMS randomly to either Post-Paid, Pre-Paid or both categories. With the new service, customers now have the ability to narrow down their target audience and choose between five thousand to one million messages to be broadcasted.
