At the ceremony, Dr Ahmed bin Ali, Group Senior Vice President, Corporate Communication, Etisalat, accepted the ‘5G Innovator of the Year’ award on behalf of the company. This award recognized “etisalat” for its significant achievements on 5G, where it has achieved regional firsts, with the announcement of the first 5G network in the MENA region and ‘Expo 2020’ as the first major commercial 5G customer in MEASA. Etisalat has always led as a pioneer in the telecom industry and has now set a new benchmark in 5G among its peers.
This milestone further supports the UAE’s reputation as a country that leads in innovation, infrastructure and development.
The awards ceremony was part of the two-day Telecoms World Middle East in Dubai. The winners were chosen by an independent panel of experienced industry veterans and the jury which includes representatives from the carrier arena, telecoms/ICT vendor community and the ICT investment banking sector.
