Customers of Qtel’s HALA Pay As You Talk service can feel a strong sense of security wherever they are in the world, with Qtel’s HALA direct dial roaming partner network now extending to 100 operators around the world.

The enhanced network of direct dial roaming partners ensures that direct dial is available in 60 countries now. Roaming services are available to all Qtel customers in 167 countries around the world.

Direct Dial roaming enables Hala customers to call and message as if they were at home in Qatar.  When roaming outside the Qtel Direct Dial roaming network, Hala customers can still utilise the Hala Call Back Roaming service that enables them to connect with friends and family from overseas, wherever Qtel has a roaming agreement.  Qtel’s international network is the widest and most reliable for Qatar-based customers.

Hala is Qatar’s most popular mobile phone service, and the range and flexibility of its roaming options are among the key attractions of the service. As an addition benefit, people can be sure of the tariff they’re paying in advance, with Qtel World Zone-Based pricing.

With clear pricing for the GCC, Middle East and North Africa, Americas and Europe, Asia and Africa zones, customers benefit from an agreed rate for calls within the country, and calls home to Qatar. Hala customers can make local roaming calls within the GCC for only QR2 a minute with Hala Roaming Partners, and calls home to Qatar cost just QR 4 per minutes.

Wherever you are in the world, customers also have a flat rate of QR1.5 for each text message via SMS, and QR2 via satellite services.

On 26 January, Qtel added its 100th operator to its international network, with the arrival of Zain Kenya as a Hala roaming partner. They joined Hutchison Indonesia, Taliya Iran, MTN Syria, Indigo Tajikistan and Turkcell Turkey among the operators added to Qtel’s roaming partner network over the past month.

Existing roaming partners include multiple operators across the GCC, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Qtel’s ongoing expansion of its international network of roaming partners is part of its strategy to provide the most reliable network in Qatar for its customers. Fair and transparent roaming pricing is a key part of this approach, through its World Zone-based pricing innovation.

For customers using Shahry – Pay Monthly, there is the fantastic Qtel SmartRoamer option, which offers discounted roaming rates with SmartRoamer partners across the GCC. SmartRoamer customers can call locally for just QR1 a minute, or call home to Qatar from destinations around the world for QR2 a minute.

The company continues to add new roaming partners every month, with new operators and countries ready to join the network in February.
