Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer friendly communications provider, is noticing a steady increase in the number of its customers enjoying the flexibility and creativity of Nawras Mobile Email thanks to the popularity of handheld devices including i-mates. Nawras is the only operator in Oman to offer an International GPRS Data Roaming service that supports the use of these devices not just in the Sultanate but also abroad with 48 International Data Roaming partners in 21 different countries. Nawras representatives will be demonstrating the tremendous advantages of the Nawras Mobile Email product during Comex 07, by showing how simple it is to get started and how straightforward and convenient it is to use.
Nawras Mobile Email was developed based on a strategic alliance with Microsoft® and i-mate™, but also supports a number of other mobile phones and PDAs from Nokia, Samsung and other manufacturers. It is an excellent and essential business tool that enables customers to send and receive emails, surf the web, check personal calendar and contacts, all in real time, while on the move. Nawras Mobile Email puts the familiar Microsoft Windows experience on a variety of handheld devices, providing a mobile email service that is not just simple to set up but easy to use. Nawras Mobile Email is based on the well-known user interface almost everyone uses on their desktop or notebook PC and even features Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other popular software programs.
BlackBerry with Nawras
Nawras customers can use their all-in-one mobile phones with Nawras Mobile Email, while travelling anywhere in Oman, in the GCC and in additional countries as geographically diverse as the USA, UK and India. Conversely, visitors to the Sultanate using a SIM-card from any one of the many Nawras data roaming partners offering BlackBerry can use their mobile handsets including BlackBerries, on the Nawras network for email, calls and SMS services as if they were in their home country. This has been particularly welcomed by members of multi-national corporations conducting business in Oman, who have been delighted to be able to maintain high efficiency by continuing to use their normal BlackBerry devices, thanks to the Nawras data roaming service.
“We have several multinational corporations who use BlackBerry with Nawras. The BlackBerry was among the first so-called “push email” services, which were introduced several years ago in the USA and Europe. The BlackBerry provides basic email access, but it has many limitations compared to the more recent products like Nawras Mobile Email. However we are pleased that we can provide BlackBerry service to multinational corporations that use this product rather than the more flexible and user friendly Nawras Mobile Email solution, mainly due to corporate polices defined by their international headquarters” said Mohammed Al Barashdy, from Nawras Direct Sales.
Nawras Mobile Email was first introduced in 2006 and since then, users have been enjoying the freedom of access to the features of Microsoft Windows without the need to be tied down to a PC, laptop or any specific location to do so. Wherever a Nawras customer is, their handheld device like an i-mate or Nokia E series, can be used for all these functions and more. According to Mohammed Al Barashdy one of the key advantages of Nawras Mobile Email is the fact the customers can access several email accounts from the same device including Hotmail, Gmail and Omantel mail accounts – a feature which is not available on the service provided on a BlackBerry.
Nawras Mobile Email customers have experienced an increase in efficiency, greater freedom of movement and in turn, the ability to serve their own customers better with faster response time and the ability to react on-the-spot, wherever they might be within the Nawras network.
An all-in-one mobile phone with email, web access and organiser has liberated communication opportunities. Nawras Mobile Email can do just that for individual customers or businesses.
At Comex, which starts this week, Nawras will demonstrate both Nawras Mobile Email and BlackBerry.
