.H. Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General of Dubai Information Department today presented Etisalat the Middle Award Customer Care Excellence Award in the IT and Telecoms category. The award was presented to the regional telecommunications giant for its dedication and focus on providing excellent customer service.
Speaking about the awards, Ali Al Kamall, Chairman – Middle East Excellence Awards Institute, said “ We established these awards to bestow recognition on organizations that are among the best in the region when it comes to offering innovative customer care and services.”
Etisalat’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Nasser bin Obood, received the award from H.H. Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum and H.E. Abdulrahman A. Abdulkader, Vice Minister, Ministry of Civil Service in Saudi Arabia at a ceremony held at Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
The Middle East Customer Care Excellence Awards recognize exceptional customer services provided by Middle East organizations. They acknowledge quality customer care practices and those organizations that are dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty through efficient and effective customer care and service delivery.
Nasser Bin Obood, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Etisalat, said: "Etisalat has invested over its 31 year history in building a company founded on excellence in customer service. Etisalat has over 45 business centres, a high-tech customer care facility, and a variety of options for interactive service requests using mobile phones or Etisalat terminals. Its total investment in customer care exceeded AED 100m in 2007.
It is also the only Middle East service provider offering comprehensive wholesale telecoms services to the region’s ISP, Mobile Operator and telecommunications community. Etisalat was responsible for maintaining Internet and international telephone services in the UAE, as well as supporting service to other operators in the UAE and across the Gulf during the recent cable cuts.
The Middle East Customer Care Award is the second industry award Etisalat has received in 2008. In 2007 the company was named ‘Best Overall Telecoms Operator’ twice, ‘Best ISP’ and ‘Best Enterprise Solution Provider’ all at separate ceremonies.
