The general assembly of the General Post and telecommunications Company held an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, 30/12/2009 In its meeting, the Company’s general assembly, has followed up the liquidation of the General Company for Post and telecommunications in order to implement the law, that states the end of the company legally at the end of the year 2009 Christian.
the General Assembly mandated its relevant committees to take all the necessary measures including the continuation of payment of salaries to the employees of the ended company, in which the activities and services of the local telecommunication devolves to “Libyan Telephone Company”, in desire of Dr. Eng "Mohammed Muammar Kadhafi," Secretary of the General Telecommunication Authority to ensure the rights of the employees of the ended company and the payment of their salaries as well as their benefits in confirmation that the end of the company's era is extremely a legal procedure where the company reached 25-years and also a regulatory framework for the telecommunications sector where workers who will find themselves in a better the future It was agreed during the meeting that devolves all the activities of international telecommunications services to “Libyan company for international calls" and the activities of space telecommunications services and Thuraya services to “Aljeel Aljadid company” the new generation company.
It was also stressed at the meeting on the Declaration of the General Authority for Communications that all services and activities which had previously been given for all segments by the ended company, “General Post and Telecommunications Company” will continue without interruption with the above-mentioned specialized companies and in the same services offices scattered throughout the Great Jamahiriya
