Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said receives Qtels Chairman

His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers of Sultanate of Oman, received last Monday 3/3/2008  HE Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud al Thani who conveyed the greetings of His Highness The Heir Apparent Shaikh Tamim bin Khalifa al Thani, and his best wishes of progress and prosperity to the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. HH Sayyid Fahd hailed the distinguished brotherly relations enhanced by the wise directives of both the leaders.

HE Shaikh Abdullah and the delegation expressed their happiness in visiting the Sultanate and the Qatari leadership’s appreciation for Oman’s vital role locally and globally, the comprehensive progress it has made in all domains, its role in GCC joint action in enhancing stability and understanding in the region.

Qtel’s subsidiary Nawars which was launched in 2005 achieved great success not only in the Sultanate of Oman, but throughout the whole region. In October Nawras was awarded the prestigious Comms  MEA award “Middle East Operator of the Year” and later in November the “Middle East Business Achievement Award for Corporate Social Responsibility” during the Leaders in Dubai conference.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Nasser al Khusaibi, Secretary-General of the National Economy Ministry, and Abdullah bin Mohammed Khatir, Qatar’s Ambassador to the Sultanate.
