Omantel and Oman Mobile participate in World No smoking Day

The Ministry of Health represented by Monitoring and Controlling of Non Communicable Diseases Department and General Directorate of Health Services in Al Dakhliyah, recently honoured Oman Mobile Telecommunications Company (Oman Mobile), as part of the (world No Tobacco Day) on 31 May.

The ceremony was held at Nizwa Applied Science College, under the patronage of HE Hamad bin Slaiman bin Hamad Al Ghurabi undersecretary ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources for Regional Municipalities Affairs and also attended by state dignitaries. The chief guest honoured Oman Mobile for their contributions to sponsor (world No Tobacco Day) which was organized by the General Directorate of Health services in Al Dakhliyah region and Hilal bin Ali bin Saif Al Abri the team leader of purchasing in Al Dakhliyah and Al Dahira region received the shield and thanks certificate on behalf of Oman Mobile.

Omantel's participation comes from its leading role of the service, social development and social responsibilities to participate in events that held at wilayats and Omani regions, its belief in the importance of this day, which titled slogan (yes to warnings picture of tobacco packets, no misleading messages). The slogan sought to avoid the misleading messages and concealment the facts of tobacco seriousness harming and contribute to dissemination the warning and cautious of tobacco and misleading messages through tobacco advertising and promotion.

Oman Mobile contributed in tobacco day through sending text message bearing awareness of smoking and its ill- effect on society and individual, in the belief of company's role and social responsibilities to interact with the society, activities and awareness harm to the surrounding.
