Customers Flock to Check Out the Arrival of the Huawei U8230    Muscat: Oman Mobile says their introduction of a  smart phone with the Android operating system has created huge excitement at COMEX with hundreds of people flocking to try out and experience a new era of affordable mobile internet experience in  the Sultanate.

The Omantel Shopper stand has been flooded with visitors inquiring about the new phone and eager to sample the huge range of applications and mobile internet capabilities of the Huawei U8320 hand set that is priced at just RO 149 and is exclusively available from Oman Mobile.

Smart phones with Android are already a global phenomenon using an operating system and applications developed by Google allowing users the highest quality internet experience from their hand set.

Commenting on the reaction to the arrival of the phone and its Android operating system, Mohamed Al Salmi, Manager PR & Media  at Omantel said: “We have been overwhelmed by the levels of interest and excitement that Android has created both at COMEX and all over the Sultanate.

“Our Shopper stand has been packed with individuals wanting to find out more about how the phone works and finding out how they can become the first individuals in Oman to own this fantastic product. In addition to offering an affordable price, every customer purchasing the phone will also get 500 MB of data transfer free per month for 2 months (if using the Hayyak prepaid service) or for 3 months (if using a Mada postpaid line).

A huge buzz and excitement has been generated by the arrival of Android. Ahmed Al Mufirji, Omantel coroner visitor at Comex said: “ I was expecting Android smart phones to arrive Oman due to the popular applications”.

Meanwhile Suliman Al Hatmi said they could not believe the unbelievable value the U8320 and its Android operating system offered compared to other smart phones on the market: “ Androids are practical phones that have advanced high levels of computing powers. These phones are the main interest of Omani youth as they are unique in bringing together all Google Internet based applications which will encourage them to interact with each other through popular social network websites including Facebook, YouTube, and Google Talk. Oman Mobile Androids launch initiative reflects Omantel’s commitment to its new enhanced brand identity and tagline “Together”.

Saif Al Badi had heard the buzz about Android and was keen to find out more at the Omantel Shopper stand. He said: “ The little green man created huge buzz in Muscat through internet, newspapers and radios last week which grabbed my attention to visit Omantel stall and get a full introduction by the experts.
