As part of Batelco’s ongoing commitment to support the community, Batelco staff who volunteer their free time through the Company’s Hearts & Minds programme, spent a day at the Bahrain Grand Prix with a group of young Bahrainis who are working in the Kingdom in a variety of professions. The young men and women are employed in such occupations as Fire Fighters, Nurses, Customs Officers and Sales Executives.
“Batelco wanted to invite young people who are representative of the Bahraini community and the nominated young people represent some of the most common professions held by young Bahrainis today,” said Batelco Group General Manager Media & Government Relations Ahmed Al Janahi.
“As a Bahraini company, we continuously look for new ways to reach out to all sectors of the community. Being part of the local community is very important to us,” he added.
The group were entertained at the Batelco Lounge in the Oasis Complex from where they were able to enjoy the excitement of the first practice sessions for this year’s Bahrain Formula One event. They also joined Batelco staff for a Pit Lane Walk which gives the opportunity to have a close up look at the F1 cars being fine-tuned before taking to the track. A trip to the Adventure Drive Arabia track to experience a ride in a Hummer 4x4 over a custom built obstacle course was also included in the line up of fun activities on the day.
“Our staff and the group of visitors really enjoyed the day. We were delighted to provide them the opportunity to experience the great atmosphere at the BIC during the F1 event,” Mr. Al Janahi added.
