Mobilk - Manama, Bahrain - 09 August, 2011: Under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Bint Mohamed Al Bulooshi, Human Rights and Social Development Minister, VIVA launched last night its Ramadan activity in Bahrain City Centre. The activity is aimed at reviving Bahraini crafts and reliving traditional street culture at a time when soaring summer temperatures have meant Bahraini youth are missing out on the sort of outdoor entertainment their parents grew up with.
For the duration of the holy month and Eid, the mall’s galleria space will feature a game zone with carrom, large chess, Dominos and hopscotch for children. The area will also host Bahraini productive families demonstrating their crafts and offering their handy work for sale.
Adding to the sense of nostalgia will be Bahraini cultural icon and storyteller Um Hilal, who will be entertaining listeners with old folk tales and sayings. Live oud music, Arabic coffee and dates round up the traditional setting.
VIVA sales staff will also be present with special Ramadan promotions on offer. The area will remain open from 8pm to midnight every day during Ramadan.
