Conclusion of the round-sixth session of the Harat Zain tournament

Zain, part of Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, concluded on Saturday the sixth tournament competitions of “Harat Zain”.

Held under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Dr. Waleed Al-Maani, the closing ceremony was organized in partnership with the federation of school sports in Al-Hussein Youth City.

Through the initiative that has been launched for the sixth consecutive year, Zain aims to create competitive opportunities for promising students in an athletic, educational and healthy environment, under the supervision of qualified football coaches and administrators. This year’s tournament hosted over 2000 students from various governorates and brigades in Jordan.

Harat Zain tournament is also considered to be a progressive project that seeks to develop Jordanian football by attracting young people and contributing to the early detection of their talents.

Zain’s Director of Corporate Communication and CSR Suzanne Afanah said: “We are proud of our partnership with the Jordanian federation for school sports who we regards as a strategic partner in implementing this project”.

Afanah added that the large number of participants in the Harat Zain tournament has led us to expand on the implementation of this project to include all governorates around the kingdom.

Afanah also praised the active and fruitful partnership between Zain and the federation of school sports, an aspect that contribute to the success of this project. “The sports media whom are also a strategic partner that contributes to the success of this project” Afanah said.

From his part, the general Secretary of the Ministry of Education for educational and artistic affairs and head of the Jordanian Federation of School Sports, Dr. Fawaz Jaradat, expressed his pride in the partnership which brings together the Federation with Zain, adding that the tournament contributes to the development of abilities and talents in a way that serves the Union's strategy which aims at early detection of this talent.

Jaradat said that the tournament is one of the sporting events that contribute to enhancing the confidence of participants and the leaders of change, according to the vision of His Majesty.
