  • Ooredoo Keeps Entrepreneurs up to Speed with Latest Women’s Incubator Workshop

Mobilk - Supporting digital innovation across the Sultanate, Ooredoo has rounded off its third social media workshop for women’s incubators, on ‘Marketing for Instagram’. Conducted by volunteer Maha Al Balushi, Founder and Chief Strategist at marketing and advertising agency, Creative KEY, the online session provided insight on topics like content creation, customer experience and essential marketing tactics and practices. The initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and is designed to help women entrepreneurs achieve their goals and  become business owners and leaders.

Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Branding, Communications and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “Our women’s incubators are a mainstay of our CSR programme and our commitment to empowering women and developing entrepreneurs, in line with Oman’s Vision 2040. In the past couple of years, in support of the government’s digitalisation goals and current trends, the programme has focused on developing digital projects and online businesses. Drawing in expertise from various fields, our workshops have provided participants with plenty of practical tools to help them reach their full potential.”

Maha Al Balushi added, “E-commerce is thriving in Oman and Instagram is big business, especially in the wake of the pandemic. This course aimed to help women this situation to their advantage. I am delighted to have joined up with Ooredoo to support other women to become fully independent and accomplished business-owners.”

Launched in 2015, the women’s incubator programme is the first of its kind in the Sultanate and one of a number of award-winning initiatives Ooredoo delivers through its CSR scheme, Goodwill. With a total of 20 incubators set up across the country to date, these hubs of learning help women gain vocational skills in areas such as information technology, beauty, cooking, sewing and handicrafts. Look out for more exciting workshops coming soon.
