Samsung adds Monte to the range

Samsung has added to its full touchscreen handset portfolio with the announcement of the Monte (S5620).
The Monte comes with a suite of social networking applications including Facebook and MySpace and the Twitter, Bebo widgets and multi-IM capability also enable users to chat in real-time.
The phone includes GPS supported by Google Latitude and comes with a geotagging capability so users can imprint their pictures with geographical tags, as well as Exchange ActiveSync for access to Outlook email accounts and Google Sync.
The Monte also comes with a 3-inch LCD screen with widescreen viewing, 3.2-megapixel camera with smile shot, panorama shot and face detection, as well as one finger zooming capabilities.
In addition the handset will also be complemented by a specially created Samsung Monte Bluetooth headset featuring miltipoint technology, microphone noise reduction and Active Pairing.
Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland vice president Mark Mitchinson said: "Samsung Monte is designed for those that appreciate beautiful design and outstanding performance but want it at an affordable price. The phone has a great set of features, such as the native social networking applications, an intelligent user interface and connectivity options to provide users with the performance they demand."
The Monte will be supported by a £2.5 million TV, online, press and outdoor advertising campaign, that will begin on April 1 featuring both colour variants - orange and graphite and black and silver.
