Mobilk - Acer Inc. announces the 2011 preliminary financial results, with the operating income of NT$0.1B (US$2.4M) in Q4, representing a turnaround from operating loss to profit in the last quarter.
According to Acer’s preliminary financial figures, the consolidated revenue for Q4 2011 was NT$127.7B (US$4.2B), up 8.3% quarter-on-quarter (QOQ), operating income was NT$0.1B (US$2.4M), profit after tax (PAT) was NT$0.1B (US$2.5M) and earnings per share (EPS) was NT$0.03. These numbers represent a turnaround to profit for Acer after back-to-back losses in Q2 and Q3 2011.
In 2011, Acer’s preliminary consolidated revenue was NT$475.5B (US$15.7B), declining 24.4% YOY. Mainly due to the one-time write-off in EMEA in Q2, Acer’s annual operating loss reached NT$6.4B (US$212M), PAT was -NT$6.6B (-US$219M), and EPS was -NT$2.52.
During Q4 2011, Acer’s consolidated revenue declined 14.4% and operating income decreased 98.4%, in comparison to the same period of 2010.
After the operational and strategic adjustments from Q2 2011, Acer’s current financial and business operation is becoming more healthy and stable.
