  • Nawras Springboard women extend support to Child Care Centre in Al Khoud

Mobilk - As part of this year’s Springboard project, to promote social development, Nawras family members have equipped the computer lab at the Child Care Centre in Al Khoud with 20 laptops. The initiative, led by Ayesha Al Shoily, Department Head – Internal Communications, stemmed from the Springboard women’s commitment to provide children with consistent internet services and access to online learning resources and activities.

Kumail Al Moosawi – Director of People at Nawras, said, “This is the seventh year we have taken part in Springboard and for this project we wanted to leave a mark in our community. The Child Care Centre is home to 130 children aged between 0 and 15 years and every single one of them should be entitled an education and with the opportunity to develop lifelong skills to grow their potential by exploring the vast resources available online.”

Run in collaboration with the British Council, the Springboard programme provides personal growth opportunities for women throughout the Middle East. Each year Nawras ladies choose a community project in order to enhance the daily lives of people in Oman and provide opportunities for individuals in support of His Majesty’s Vision 2020 strategy. Over one-third of the Nawras family is female and the Springboard programme provides avenues to nurture their careers by encouraging and providing learning and leadership possibilities outside of the day to day working environment.

Nawras family members embody the spirit of caring for others all year round by giving their time and supporting the community and charitable organisations with a wide variety of activities. As an integral part of Omani society, Nawras also sponsors a diverse range of events that directly impact and connect people across the Sultanate.
