  • Nawras Goodwill Journey provides help in Haima

Mobilk - Muscat , Oman – After leaving Muscat, and visiting Al Mudhibi and Maserah, the Nawras Goodwill Journey 7 reached Haima on day two of the second leg of its annual caring mission. Salalah is the Nawras team’s final destination, and the group of volunteers is visiting various associations and charity organisations along the way.

When in Haima, members of the Nawras Goodwill Journey team distributed sim cards and internet modems to Salim Al Marooqi, Director of Social Development in Al Wusta region.  The Nawras team will also donate items to the centre including wheelchairs, hearing aids, air conditioners, refrigerators and electrical appliances to be used in the home.

The donated items will be distributed amongst the less privileged members of society. In addition the team will also provide electrical equipment to be used for ceremonies and presentations.

Khalid bin Ali Al Zadjali, Leader of the Nawras Goodwill Journey, said, "When colleagues at Nawras heard about the Goodwill Journey so many came to me and expressed a will to participate. If you do something like this with a heartfelt commitment, there will be a lasting impact.”

From Haima, the team will leave for Morbat in Dhofar and the following day they will  continue on the last leg of their journey to Sadeh, where they will once again give generous donations.

The second phase of the journey was launched earlier this week on August 20 2011, from the Nawras Head office in Athaiba.  The Goodwill Journey is a well-known event that takes place every year during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Nawras Goodwill Journey aims to help the less fortunate members of society; children, the elderly, individuals on a low income salary and those suffering from illness or disability are all supported by the program.
