Areeba will be operating under the name MTN-Sudan

Areeba Sudan on June 17th in a Press Conference held at Alsalam Rotana Hotel – Khartoum, announced that its parent company Investcom LLC has been acquired by South Africa’s MTN group. This means Areeba is now a subsidiary of the MTN Group and will be operating under the name MTN-Sudan.

Mr. Imad Kreidieh, Chief Executive Officer, MTN Sudan commented:” Our merger with MTN will benefit our customers in Sudan with the advantages of being a part of a truly global telecommunications giant”.

Fadi Agha, Chief Commercial Officer, MTN Sudan stated: “Re branding to MTN coincided with the launch of new commercial offers –prepaid multi profiles and services – ring back tone (Mazzazik).Both services are expected to enjoy high demand in the Sudanese market”

He also confirmed: “this is only the start, other services are expected to be launched soon”

MTN Sudan is the leading mobile operator in Sudan Launched in 2005 and has more that 1.4 mill subscribers. It is part of the MTN Group with operations in 21 countries and more than 44 mill subscribers.
