Over 500 children from Ali Bin Abdulla Junior School for Boys had the opportunity to learn about the wide world of Internet and communications technology recently, with a special visit from the Qtel team which included the Qtel Alrayan branch Manager and community relations section.
Led by Mr Alli Rashed Albana, Alrayan branch manager, they were received by Maha Al-Rwelie, the Head of the School, the boys had the opportunity to see some of the newest devices and learn about how a company like Qtel serves the community.
The programme included an opening speech by the Head of the School and presentations from branch managers and Qtel Internet City representatives.
It also saw a range of cultural and tradition demonstrations, with participating children singing the national anthem and learning more about folklore.
Among the discussions held at the event were ideas for using the Internet to learn more about Qatar and the world, and also suggestions for using it in a safe and productive way.
Qtel is hosting a series of events at schools, colleges and public locations all across Qatar as part of its “Fuel Your Senses” campaign, which comes with a refreshed new look for Qtel, built around a shared sense of pride and purpose.
It has chosen to host a range of events at its concepts stores, because they provide a unique resource for the neighbourhoods where they are established. When the new range of Qtel Shops were opened, Qtel committed to offering them as community resources as well as a support centres for customers.
One of Qtel’s key values is the importance of helping young people to feel excited about the potential for technology to encourage development in Qatar.
