Young Bahrainis who are part of telecom giant Zain’s Future University Network (F.U.N - a career support program) met their counterparts from Kuwait, Jordan, Sudan at a brain-storming session in Jordan.
At the three-day F.U.N. summit, the Bahraini participants joined in presenting action plans for 2010, making professional presentations and participated enthusiastically in team-building fun activities.
The F.U.N. program was launched in October 2009 in Bahrain and aims to give university students the opportunity to gain experience and nurture their corporate skills under the guidance of Zain experts, who will prepare them for rigors of the job market or the challenges of entrepreneurship.
F.U.N. is a youth development entity made up of university students who invest in themselves, under Zain’s guardianship, to feed their minds and sculpt their professional skills through teamwork, collaboration, training and practical field work. The F.U.N. members are fully exposed to the corporate environment and where they are invited to in-house training sessions.
“The F.U.N. project is more than just an internship; it also gives student team members opportunities to develop projects and come up with innovative business ideas and test them against the real world, gaining management, hands-on know how – against this backdrop, the Bahrain F.U.N. team’s participation in the Jordan meet was vital to their understanding of how inter-group corporate activities are managed,” said Zain Bahrain’s F.U.N Manager Mohammed Isa, “We currently have over 25 Bahraini F.U.N. team members in our Bahrain operations.”
Over the years, Zain has welcomed student interns from all local universities to help enhance the personal and professional skills needed for today's job market. A number of ‘Future University Network’ graduates are currently employees of Zain in Jordan as well as with the Zain Group Head office in Bahrain, including the current Youth Programs Director Dina Sa'ad.
