Mobily has many agreements with other operators all over the world. Mobily is rapidly approaching its objective of getting the entire Kingdom covered with 3.5G, said Abdulaziz Altamami, Chief Operating Officer of Mobily. “We want the network to accommodate as many 3.5G users as possible,” he said. “There are more than 80 cities, governorates and highways covered, and the exponentially rising demand for 3.5G motivates Mobily to do whatever it can to cover all of the Kingdom’s populated areas.’
Mobily’s 3.5G network is the busiest in the world, according to Informa Telecom Media, the global authority in telecommunications market analysis and research. Informa said in its report that Mobily, the Kingdom’s second mobile operator, has the biggest 3.5G customer base in the world.
Informed sources further said that Mobily now has an 85% market share in the Kingdom’s mobile broadband sector. They added that Mobily had attracted more than 300,000 subscribers to the service in less than 18 months since the service went online. Previous international reports said that Mobily is the most active operator in data transfer, shifting as many as 18.5 terabytes per day.
