Qtel launches a new Mozaic service – MyTones

Qtel has announced today a new Mozaic service – MyTones - that allows all mobile customers to personalize the ring tone that callers hear. Qtel customers can express themselves with MyTones and also keep their callers entertained with a distinctive style; over 300 tones are available now including a wide variety of music from Islamic, Arabic, English, Filipino, Farsi and Bollywood catalogues.

“This is great fun. It’s a really a wonderful new service that enables anyone with a mobile phone to personalize their mobile calls.” Said Sheikh Fahad Bin Jassim Al Thani, Qtel’s Chief Operating Officer “For instance you can choose a tone that plays for callers during the daytime and another for those who call in the evening.  It enables you to set just the right mood for the incoming call and perhaps even influence the caller.”

Users can customize their ring back tone via by dialing 9002424 and selecting from a series of simple menu options using interactive voice recognition (IVR) in either Arabic or English.

Discrete tones can be set for distinct times of day as well as for individual callers. The user decides which tones get played to a specific caller at a specific time; these are the ‘play-rules’ which include a shuffle mode that enables subscribers to play tones randomly.

The service is available for all mobile customers, postpaid and prepaid, and applies at no extra charge to roaming and international calls. There are no monthly subscription fees and the monthly charge is just QR 5 per tone. Calls to 9002424 are charged at QR 1 per minute . Customers can buy as many tones as they want and create as many play-rules as they like in the account. MyTones music library will be constantly updated to include the latest tones from the best sources available. Further features will be added to this exciting service soon
