Qtel launches discounted SMS to the Philippines by purchasing an international SMS MSG+ pack

As part of its ongoing Summer Waves Promotion campaign, Qtel announced today that Hala prepaid customers can achieve approximately 20% in savings from sending SMS to the Philippines by purchasing an international SMS MSG+ pack.

From July 26th to September 30th, Hala Prepaid customers can purchase a MSG+ pack for QR 34 which enables them to send up to 70 FREE SMS exclusively to the Philippines within 15 days.

Customers simply FREE call 128 from their Hala Prepaid line to purchase and activate the MSG+ pack. The first 10000 customers who buy a pack get a chance to win a trip for two to Manila through a draw that will take place in the 1st week of September.

Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director of Group Communications in Qtel said, “Qtel’s global SMS reach is extensive and we offer very affordable rates to many countries worldwide. We are delighted to offer some volume savings to the Philippines which represent a key messaging destination for a large number of our Hala customers. We are confident that our Filipino customers will appreciate the savings we are providing in this summer promotion.”

In addition to this promotion, there are currently six other promotions running simultaneously from Qtel, Hala top-up where Hala customers will receive a 5% instant calling credit bonus over and above the top-up amount when they recharge at any of Qtel’s self service machines or e-voucher.  The second is the Landline promotion where customers can save up to QR668 till July 19, 2008 and the third is a postpaid promotion where postpaid customers can acquire their yearly subscription for QR150, a saving of QR300.  As for the fourth promotion, it’s the Roam & Win where for every QR100 customers spend while roaming with Qtel outside Qatar gets them a chance to enter the promotional draw to win a BMW 650 convertible, 2008.  The fifth new service offered this summer is Hala Call Back roaming where Hala customers can initiate a call from anywhere in the world where Qtel has an agreement with the local mobile provider. Finally, the sixth promotion is Late Talkers which provides postpaid, prepaid and landline customers with the ability to enjoy their late summer nights by staying in touch with their loved ones for only 20 Dirhams a minute from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. 7 days a week.
