Nawras, the Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year, held a hugely successful party at Marah Land on Thursday evening, to celebrate the fact that over one million customers are now part of the fastest growing family in Oman. The event attracted thousands of Nawras customers, who excitedly converged on this popular family venue, some travelling in buses from as far away as Sur, Salalah, Sharqiyah, Batinah and Darqiyah regions! There was a palpable sense of excitement as everyone anticipated enjoying the special activities lined up to mark this milestone.
Scheduled to start at 7:00pm, crowds were already converging on Marah Land from 3:00pm, with the place soon abuzz with so many people enjoying the hospitality of their customer friendly mobile operator. The exciting occasion included free entry, free rides, raffle tickets and rousing musical entertainment from some of Oman’s most popular singing stars. Nawras had promised an occasion to entertain the whole family in one of the biggest events of its kind ever to be held in the Sultanate and delivered on that promise, as always.
In a short break during the musical programme, Nawras CEO Ross Cormack took to the stage and spoke to the huge crowd who were gathered there, listening to some of the Sultanate’s top entertainers. He said, “Nawras is proud to part of this beautiful country, which is truly one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world. We would like to say a huge thank you to you all for being members of the fastest growing family in Oman. We are thrilled to be celebrating over one million customers and it’s great to see so many of you here tonight with your families, enjoying this fantastic evening at Marah Land.”
Nawras COO Khalid Al-Mahmoud explained, “Nawras is always looking for ways to be pleasingly different and this special event was designed to be just that, giving all Nawras customers the chance to enjoy the cool weather and popular venue with free rides, prizes and entertainment. We are overwhelmed to see so many of our valued customers here tonight and thank everyone for their fantastic support.”
All over Marah Land, families could be seen and heard enjoying themselves. Some were screaming with pleasure as they whirled sky-high on exhilarating rides, others were laughing as they collided with one another on the bumper cars and many had congregated around the stage area, tapping their feet and clapping along to their favourites songs being performed by Badriya, Ayub, Naif and Autyfa. The crowd were also treated to a beautiful piece of poetry, which was written and read out by Badriya, entitled ‘We all love Nawras’.
Customers were flocking to the park gates long before the event was due to start with the first one thousand through the gates, receiving a gift of a free Nawras Recharge card. Young and old arrived in a never-ending stream, bundled up to stay warm in the chilly weather. The temperature may have dropped to an unusually low point but spirits were high and everyone wanted to be a part of this momentous occasion.
After his speech, Cormack pulled out the lucky tickets from the raffle draw and a seemingly endless list of numbers was read out by the evening’s MC, with the numerous winners delighted to receive fabulous prizes including handsets, welcome packs and Nawras Recharge cards.
The evening was declared a huge success and once again Nawras showed what it means to ‘Get closer’ and how Nawras customers always get more from their pleasingly different mobile services provider!
Nawras currently covers 96% of the population with its world-class network, using national roaming where necessary and always with Nawras great value and excellent quality.
