As part of a continuing investment in people, Nawras supervisors recently successfully completed the Certificate in Team Leading from the UK’s Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). CEO Ross Cormack joined the presentation held on conclusion of this internationally recognised award programme which is designed to develop and sharpen leadership competency and skills.
The Nawras employees completed all four modules with assessment standards verified by the ILM in London. The modules required participants to demonstrate a high level of skill learned or developed from the classroom teaching and, most importantly, from putting the learning into practice in the workplace.
Nawras partnered with the National Centre for Professional Development (NCPD) in Oman to deliver the programme.
Paul Walsh, Head of People Development at Nawras said, “The ILM qualifications have long been recognized as prestigious, international awards that develop the knowledge and skills of leaders. As the innovative provider of mobile communications in the Sultanate, Nawras ensures that its leaders are as “cutting edge” in people issues as its products and services are in technological areas. We have seen a real difference in the skill levels of our supervisors who have attended this challenging leadership programme.”
Following the success of the Certificate programme Nawras is now entering employees with potential for senior management roles into the ILM Diploma programme.
Presenting the certificates, Steve Champion, Director of Learning & Development representing NCPD, concluded, "We are delighted to be working with Nawras once again on the Institute of Leadership and Management Certificate in Team Leading programme. The focus of the programme is enabling team leaders to develop their competencies so they can contribute much more.”
This certificate has provided the candidates with an internationally recognised, professional qualification and further enhanced their career with this customer-focused company.
Nawras continues to develop people in telecommunications as the company grows both in terms of mobile and fixed services as well as serving ever-increasing numbers of customers.
