Preparations are underway for XPress Telecommunications to launch the new Motorola i305 phone to the local market. The latest direct connect phone is designed to meet military specifications for humidity, shock, dust, and blowing rain , as well as other extreme weather conditions. “The i305 is particularly suitable for those sectors with tough working conditions or require a lot of field work. The durability of the phone allows it to resist the roughest environments and thus maintain its good condition,” said Ashraf Samawi, XPress Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. A sturdy and rain-resistant phone, the i305 is certified to meet US Military Standard (810 F) for blowing rain, humidity, and salt fog. It is designed to withstand exposure to rain, sleet, and snow. Rubber encasing, interior linings, and seals protect the phone’s antenna, speakerphone, keys, battery door, and accessory connections against water intrusion. The phone’s rugged construction allows it to perform in extreme outdoor environments and to stand up to dusty environments, drops, exposure to vibration from heavy machinery use, and hot/cold climates. The Motorola i305 weighs 188 grams with dimensions of 3.3x6x13 centimeters, and features Direct Connect, the walkie-talkie service, in addition to mobile phone services. Other features include voice-activated dialing, built-in speakerphone for hands-free mobile conversations, walkie-talkie speaker/privacy mode, multi-language support, assigned ring tones for contacts, vibracall alert, quickstore phone numbers, one-touch dialing, one-touch Direct Connect, built-in Internet microbrowse, and T9 for fast text entry.
