TRA Holds Its Annual Retreat and Gathering and Approves a Number of Initiatives

Mobilk - The Telecommunications Regularity Authority (TRA) held its two days (25-26 April) annual retreat and gathering in the St Regis Hotel-Abu Dhabi in the presence of H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, and Deputy General Manager of various sectors, directors of departments and all TRA employees. A series of initiatives and projects were approved during the retreat and will be implemented over a period of one year.

The retreat began with a welcoming speech by H.E Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, followed by an interactive discussion session between all the participating parties, which resulted in the adoption of series of initiatives for the year 2017-2018. An exercise was held with the aim to develop the most important services through creative and innovative solutions as part of the Future Accelerators initiative for the happiness of employees and customers. The list of targeted services included spectrum, quality accreditation, customs clearance, dispute resolution (complaints to service providers), the TRA portal, and the smart TRA application. During the retreat, the teams outputs were presented to the Future Accelerators initiative and concluded with a session on topics related to the history and traditions of the UAE.

Commenting on the importance of this event, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori said: "The retreat is an annual meeting that provides an overview of what has been accomplished over the course of a year, outlines the strategies for the next phase and sets goals for the various working teams in TRA. It is important for us to achieve sustainable development and build a knowledge-based economy in line with the guidance of the leadership in this field to strengthen the UAEs position on the global competitiveness map."

H.E added: "We have become an outstanding entity in the country, because we believe in our employees and we work on developing their skills and initiative. The experience of TRA in this field has become a role model for teamwork and achievements."

H.E. also stressed that the governments trust in the TRA is very high and is based on the strategic tasks assigned to it and the role it plays on the national level. This is a source of pride for all of us and it encourages us to strengthen communication and coordination with various government agencies to overcome the challenges and achieve national objectives.

The retreat was concluded with the employees annual gathering, which included many topics, the most important of which is a motivational lecture about happiness and positivity presented by Mr. Fahad Haikal, the accredited speaker by the Ministry of Happiness, and a five-minute challenge that included a review of innovative projects presented by the TRA employees and departments. H.E. also launched the internal employees portal with its new features, which make it smarter and more interactive, in addition to some entertaining activities and honoring distinguished employees.
