  • Ooredoo Enriches the Lives of 300 Children during World Autism Day

Mobilk - Reinforcing its commitment to local communities across Oman, Ooredoo commemorated World Autism Day with an event at the Al Wafa’a Rehabilitation Development Centre for Disabled Children. Organised in Wilayat Amerat, the celebration hosted more than 300 children with every participant receiving special gifts and treats from Ooredoo.

Raed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “Autism is a lifelong neurological condition that begins during early childhood, but it does not alter the need for those individuals to lead fulfilling and happy lives, just like everybody. Today, the rate of autism in all regions of the world is high and there is a real need to understand more about the condition. It has a tremendous impact on individuals, their families and communities and while we can never fully appreciate the difficulties they face, we can stand by them and support in every way we can.”

Ooredoo prides itself on being an integral member of Omani society, championing their social and economic empowerment. Its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy has led to the company joining hands and assisting numerous voluntary organisations, government and non-government. Its longstanding commitment to providing sustainable support includes the Oman Association for the Hearing Impaired, the Al Noor Association for the Blind, and its highly popular Goodwill Journey, an annual mission that has touched the thousands of lives across the Sultanate.
