TRA Hosts the International Speaker Roger Harrop

Mobilk - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) hosted in its office in Dubai last week the international motivational speaker Roger Harrop, who gave a presentation on the importance of technology in leadership and change. The change and future are among the priorities of TRAs directives that lead to smart transition in the country, in light of the government directives and the wise leaderships instructions in the transition to the knowledge-based economy, additionally, the trends of the post-oil era, as the regulator of the countrys ICT sector, in facilitating the use of modern technologies potentials in the management of change, moving towards the future and using available resources to identify solutions for business in what is known as (0 Cost), or at no cost, which enhances the strategy of innovation in the country.

The seminar, which was attended by H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, as well as department managers and employees, was interactive and positive. The lecturer Roger Harrop introduced simple solutions developed by simple people in the world to the challenges they faced in their lives, in developing countries and poor areas. The lecturer presented an introduction on the concept of innovation and creativity that begins with a simple idea, being read and processed in a distinctive way. The lecturer also highlighted that leadership is a responsibility, a challenging task that must be confronted in a modern way, comparable to the level of business and modern services of the leading countries in the field of ICT, including the UAE.

H.E. Al Mansoori praised the initiative, saying: "The next phase of the work includes preparing for the major topics decided by our wise leadership. Most importantly are sustainability, smart city, artificial intelligence, and enhancing economic competitiveness based on innovation, to enhance the UAEs leading position as a center of economic vitality and activity, as well as a digital knowledge economy and society." 

Al Masoori emphasized on the importance of proceeding with all the initiatives that enhance awareness and innovation and increase the level of knowledge and positivity among employees. He indicated that such lectures serve the institutional values of TRA in enabling employees to achieve its vision of the UAE as a world leader in ICT, in addition to achieving the TRAs strategic objective of enhancing a culture of innovation in the institutional work environment.    

The lecture focused on standards of leadership, positivity, and the importance of a good listening leader that has the ability to appreciate others thoughts, and support creative and innovative ideas. It also focused on overcoming obstacles using existing tools to achieve the work properly, and other areas that have been discussed during the lecture that lasted for about 120 minutes.

The British speaker Roger Harrop is one of the best-known motivational speakers worldwide. He has an extensive knowledge in technology, and constantly calls for the use of technical means to solve administrative problems and obstacles faced by the business sector.
