  • Wave 11 of Ooredoo’s Pioneering Springboard Programme Goes Online with SQU Students

Mobilk - Continuing to support women’s’ professional development, even during the pandemic, Ooredoo has joined with Sultan Qaboos University for a special online series of its popular Springboard programme. A total of four sessions will be delivered to students by certified trainer and Ooredoo’s Head of CSR, Ayesha Al Shoily, covering confidence building, goal setting, stress management, networking, self-motivation and more, all aimed at boosting their leadership skills. The course will later offer the students a chance to receive funding and other support for the most promising projects. In its 11th wave, the Springboard programme is a fundamental part of Ooredoo’s CSR strategy, which aims to nurture Omani talent and promote digital entrepreneurship.

Feras bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, Director of Branding and Communications at Ooredoo, said, “Ooredoo’s CSR platform, known as Ooredoo Goodwill, has grown over the years and broadened its scope of work, with initiatives and programs all over Oman. Overcoming the current challenges and in line with our digital transformation, our Springboard programme has been specially adapted to support online learning and digital entrepreneurship. Through it, we hope to support the students from SQU to enrich their experience, equip them for their careers, and help them to recognise their true potential.”

As well as a series of trainer-led workshops, the upcoming sessions will include talks from the programme’s previous graduates, to highlight their own experience with Springboard and how it has contributed to their success.

Focusing specifically on women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship, the Springboard programme for women completed its tenth wave earlier in the year. Meanwhile, the Spring Forward programme, open to both men and women, recently completed its fifth wave. To date Ooredoo has provided 1,800 women and men of all ages, interests, social status and career paths, the opportunity to enhance their skillsets, as they work closely with industry leaders and licensed trainers to pursue their development and growth.
