Greatest Brands Survey

Muscat: Oman Mobile has been recognized as the leading telecoms brand in Oman in a new nationwide survey of the country’s greatest brands conducted by the Oman Daily Observer newspaper.

The prestigious accolade comes in a recently published new book that looks at the top 130 brands there are in the whole of Oman with Oman Mobile leading the way in the telecoms sector and coming 29 places ahead of its nearest rival in the mobile sector. The survey was conducted among over 1000 people from all walks of life and locations across the country. 

Oman Mobile was the pioneer of mobile telecommunications in the Sultanate and owns the most advanced 3.5G network that covers large parts of Oman. 

This is just the latest accolade that Oman Mobile and Omantel have won in recent years as the companies continue to lead the way in the delivery of cutting edge mobile, fixed line and broadband services with the broadest network coverage across the Sultanate of Oman. 

Commenting on the recognition in this latest survey, Zuwaina Al Rashdi, Sr. Manager Branding & Advertising at Omantel said, “I am delighted that the Oman Mobile brand had retained its pioneer position and is firmly recognized as the leading telecom brand in Oman and among the top 10 in the Sultanate.

The two million-plus subscribers who use the Oman Mobile network have access to both first class services in Oman and international roaming coverage with agreements in place with 374 roaming partners in 155 countries. 

Omantel and Oman Mobile have been recognized as the best private sector companies in the area of the employment of the national workforce in the telecom sector by the GCC Council of Ministries of Labor. Last year Omantel was selected as one of the strongest 30 regional brands in the region.

Recently, “Together for a happier Eid” charity campaign which was organized between Omantel and Bank Muscat won Tawasul Award for the best social investment program.
