Official Telecommunications Partner of the Bahrain International Circuit
Batelco, in its prestigious role as official telecommunications partner of the Bahrain International Circuit, ensured that all visitors to this year’s Formula 1 event had access to seamless communications services to cater to all their needs.
“Batelco works alongside the BIC throughout the year to deliver telecommunications solutions for all events including the annual Grand Prix. It is most critical that everything runs smoothly especially for the F1 event as all eyes from all over the world are focused on Bahrain and the BIC,” said Batelco Chief Executive Bahrain Gert Rieder.

Batelco Chief Technical Officer Ebrahim Zainal said that Batelco’s Technical Teams have installed telecommunications infrastructure and equipment to cope with any demands required by the teams and media visiting for the event.
“As part of the infrastructure implementation process we provided dedicated high-speed internet over our Next Generation Network (NGN). We also provided ISDN connectivity for the BIC’s PABX to cater for all voice and data calls both locally and internationally,” said Mr. Zainal.
“Our provisioning also included International Private Leased Circuits to international locations for the use of teams that required the transfer of data to their home bases following each day of race testing.”
“Additionally, Batelco’s high speed internet ensured that all the teams, media, sponsors and corporate guests had access to world class connectivity,” he added.
Mr. Rieder continued to add that as an all services provider Batelco kept its mobile subscribers and visitors to the show, very much in mind, by ensuring they could remain in contact with family, friends and business colleagues by installing additional mobile coverage and capacity to cater for the crowds at the BIC.
Batelco had a team of ten skilled technical staff on hand at the BIC site to tend to any issues that arose. In addition to on-site support, engineers and technical teams at Batelco’s NOC (Network Operations Centre) carried out real time monitoring of the network infrastructure and services around the clock.

This weekend Bahrain has been in the spotlight internationally and we are delighted to have played such a crucial part,” Mr. Rieder concluded.
