Bahrain’s Leading Telecommunications Company Participate for 11th Year
Batelco as one of the major sponsors of education in the Kingdom is delighted once again to support the UoB (University of Bahrain) Career Day which will take place at the university’s Sakhir campus on March 22nd, 23rd and 24th. This is the 11th year that Batelco has participated in the event to support the educational development and career prospects of the UoB students.
Batelco’s stand, which will be the biggest at the annual event, will be located in the centre of the Main Hall and it is expected than around 800 students will visit the stand every day to meet Batelco industry experts who can answer questions and give advice based on their years of experience in their respective fields.
Batelco’s Group General Manager HR Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa, who will attend the opening ceremony on the 22nd March, said that Batelco is delighted once again to support the key event that is instrumental in guiding students on a successful career path.
“Career Day provides the perfect opportunity for university students to find out more about careers in the telecommunications industry as well as the wider job market,” he said.
“The event will provide a clear picture for all students about the career prospects available at Batelco, and what kind of qualifications Batelco looks for. Batelco’s HR personnel will also demonstrate how to apply for Batelco careers online,” he added.
As an added bonus for students, Batelco will offer a special package designed with students in mind at their exhibition stand during the 3-day event.
Batelco Human Resources General Manager Suhaila Alnowakhda presented a sponsorship cheque to UoB Vice President for Community Service & Alumni Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Mansour Al Shehab at a presentation held at Batelco Hamala Headquarters.
Prof. Dr. Ali Mansour Al Shehab thanked Batelco for its generousity and stressed that their continuous support for the university’s activities would benefit the work market in the Kingdom.
“The continued sponsorship of this event has created a unique relationship between the university and one of the major companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will surely contribute to further boosting mutual co-operation,” said Dr. Al Shehab.
Shaikh Ahmed continued by saying that the youth of today will be the leaders of tomorrow.
“Education, knowledge and sound advice will provide invaluable tools to help them face the challenges that lie ahead. The UoB, in organising events such as this, is helping to build a better future for Bahraini generations to come,” he concluded.
