Oman Mobile – the mobile business arm of Omantel - is introducing another first to the Omani market by being the first operator to provide new outstanding feature for Samani service that enables customers to use their creativity and imagination to record and designate their own personalized ring back tone to be heard by the person calling them.
With this new feature, customers can record their own ring back tone in their own voice, and assign that tone as a ring back tone to be heard by one individual caller only or assign it to be heard by a group of callers.
Sahar Al Asmi, Team Leader Data Services of Oman Mobile Consumer Business Unit said “Oman Mobile was the first operator in the Sultanate to introduce ring back tone service that enabled subscribers to select their own tone from a preset list. Today, Oman Mobile is taking another step by being again the first operator that enables subscribers to record and assign their own ring back tone making the service even more attractive especially to the youth segment.
We strive to introduce the latest technologies to our customers and this new service is the latest addition to our list of value added services, Al Asmi added.
This service is available to all Mada and Hayyak subscribers and it is designed to be simple to use. In order to record and assign a ring back tone, all a customer has to do is call 1236 and follow the instructions. Once the customer records his/her tone, it will be audited to ensure suitability of content and then it will be assigned to the customer within a maximum of 48 hours. It is possible for customers to assign the tone to be heard by only one caller or a group of callers. In addition to the ability to record a personalized ring back tone, customers also have the option to select a tone from a wide range of tones including Islamic content, Arabic tones, Indian tones, music tones, as well as tones for special occasions.
Omantel is the pioneer telecom solutions provider in the Sultanate and has been providing services to individual and corporate customers for the past 35 years. The new service is the latest from Omantel in a series of new and innovative products and services the company committed itself to introducing following the launch of its enhanced brand and “Together” tagline earlier this year.
