Batelco Says Working To Restore Internet Services In Bahrain

, said Wednesday that it is working to restore services after internet degradation hit the Gulf country internet traffic amid widespread protests.

said in an e-mailed statement.

Protests in Bahrain entered their third day Wednesday, as tens of thousands continued to occupy a major intersection in the capital and thousands more marched to mourn a second man killed in Tuesday clashes with security forces.

Earlier, a spokesman for Bahrain Telecommunications Regulatory Authority told Zawya Dow Jones that the internet was working as usual, adding that any slowdown in the internet could be due to heavy usage in the country.
