Zain SA shines at international telecom exhibition

Zain KSA has wrapped up five days at the International Exhibition of Telecommunications, held in Geneva and organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) held on October 5-9, 2009.
 
The exhibition is a global event attended by major telecom companies and government institutions worldwide. “Zain’s participation in this international forum in collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and its presence in the Kingdom’s pavilion, are part of the company's efforts to highlight the active role played by the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom, and strides made by this vital sector in all technological and service aspects,” declared Ismail Fikri, Zain KSA’s operational CEO.

The event also signaled another step in Zain’s bid to achieve greater global exposure in its aim to be a top ten mobile telecom operator by 2011. “We have to keep testing ourselves,” said Zain Group CEO Dr Saad Al Barrak. “To do this we have to step outside our comfort zone and position ourselves with the global players. The Geneva show was just such an opportunity. We proved that we can stand among the very best.”
