Mobilk - Qtel and United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, today signed an agreement that will see Qtel acquire the full communications infrastructure of The Pearl-Qatar, which was previously wholly-owned by UDC.
Qtel will own and operate the network, enabling residents to enjoy voice, high-speed Broadband Internet and Mozaic TV Entertainment services in their homes and offices.
With the advanced infrastructure in place on The Pearl-Qatar, customers will benefit from more choice and great value from Qtel, as the company continues to expand Qatar’s most reliable network across the nation.
Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qtel Qatar, said: “Today’s agreement marks another important step forward for Qtel and for residents across Qatar, as we strive to offer the highest level of service, and most advanced technology. Our ambition is to work to make Qatar one of the best-connected countries in the world, and infrastructure acquisition agreements with pioneering developers like UDC are a key part of that process.”
“Residents of The Pearl-Qatar can be assured that Qtel will provide them with the highest standards of service, and widest range of choices, so that they enjoy communication to a world-class standard,” he added.
Ebrahim Mubarak Al-Sulaiti, CEO, UDC, said: “A great deal of time and careful planning supports this new agreement, which will provide important added-value for our residents and visitors. We are pleased to conclude this agreement, and believe that Qtel will deliver the highest quality of services to residents at The Pearl-Qatar.”
