Zain Launches Ijazza Tourist Information

Zain, part of the Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, launched, in cooperation with Ijazza, a new and innovative service for its customers who now have access to a large and varied database of tourist information in Jordan. 

The new Ijazza service provides its customers with a comprehensive directory on the most important tourist sites, shopping areas and restaurants. The applications of this service are downloaded for free through the GPRS for all Zain customers who will enjoy a variety of information on Ijazza.

Ijazza includes a list of several services through an easy-to-use search engine enabling customers to surf a rich spectrum of images and maps in addition to reviewing the weather forecast.

Zain’s CEO, Dr Abdel Malek Al-Jaber said that the launching of Ijazza services is in harmony with the company’s direction of developing the content industry in the Kingdom and in response to the ensuing developments of the needs of various social segments that Zain services.

He added that this step also emphasizes the Company’s efforts in its contribution to rendering Jordan a regional incubator for this industry and achieve the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein.

Ijazza General Manager Ahmad Tabba’, said that the design of the new application took into consideration the need for ease of use and richness of information, adding that Zain possesses particularly excellent experience in this area.

This service is exclusive to Zain’s customers and comes at a time when the company is seeking to contribute effectively to the development of the local content industry. It also comes at a time when the mobile phone is becoming increasingly important in the fast-paced daily life of the modern individual.

The Ijazza services home page is available in both Arabic and English and includes information on the most important events and activities in Jordan as well as special offers that are continuously being updated.

Zain’s customers can now download the Ijazza service directly from the website onto their mobile phones and browse the list of the most important local sites and events.
