Zain organizes special activities for children at al-Amal School

Zain, part of the Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa organized special activities for children at al-Amal School for the Deaf in Zarqa. The activities, which included a free medical day and a visit to the Children’s Museum, was organized on the occasion of the Deaf Children Week (20-27 April).

Doctors at Zain’s fully equipped mobile clinic attended to all 70 students at the school providing them with various check-ups and examinations, and dispensing the necessary medications to those who needed them.

The students were also given a special tour of the Children’s Museum in Amman, which was established as an initiative by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah to develop children’s learning abilities and creative capabilities. The Museum has more than 150 educational exhibits designed for children of up to 14 years old, and in which Zain is a main sponsor through a special communications and IT section.

Zain CEO Dr. Abdel-Malek Al-Jaber reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to supporting various segments of the Jordanian society, particularly the needy ones. He said “that segment is part of our lives, and we must live up to our commitment towards them for a better future for all.”

Al-Amal School for the Deaf in Zarqa is one of 5 schools sponsored by Zain in the first and the second stages of the Madrasati Initiative, which included maintenance and rehabilitation work for 4 other schools in Amman, Muwaqqar, Jerash and Ajloun.

In this regard, CEO Dr. Abdel-Malek Al-Jaber has voiced Zain’s pride in being one of the first companies to be part of the Initiative. He said “we at Zain are proud to have been one of the first public sector companies to support the Madrasati Initiative for what its noble objective of improving education and elevating our students.”

Dr. Al-Jaber described the Initiative as a crossing point between Zain’s objectives in support of the educational sector and that of the Initiative in support of the educational infrastructure. He said one year after it was launched, Zain’s support and commitment will continue for the coming four years.

Zain is a main sponsor and supporter of the Madrasati Initiative, which was launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah to rehabilitate and develop 500 schools across the Kingdom. Zain has dedicated $500,000 to support this ambitious initiative over 5 years.
